Upon graduating college in 2010, I immediately landed a job with the Torrington Telegram in Torrington, Wyoming. With a population of just over 5,000, it was a podunk job in a podunk town, and I loved every minute of it.
I contributed 6-10 stories every week to the publication, amassing over 200 stories and photos in six months. A family issue required me to move back to Denver, and my journalistic career was essentially over. But for 6 months, I was paid to be a writer!
The stories on this page are some of my favorites. The links present abridged versions, so I’ve included PDFs of the originals for those interested enough to read them. After reading some, you may wonder why I favored them. I just know they all feature at least one facet of the process that I felt I did well.
