Crux is a fictitious band created by John Miller as a means of introducing his music to potential Internet listeners. No expectation of compensation was ever really considered, and the concept should be taken for what it is: an attempt by an amateur musician to recreate the sounds in his head.
The visual layouts are mainly the result of college projects in 2008-09 using InDesign and HTML software. The songs however, were written between 1975-89 and recorded on an old Dokorder 4-channel reel-to-reel tape recorder. Through the magic of sound editing software, they were converted into digital files for Internet consumption.
Here they are, warts and all. If any musicians or bands out there like some of them enough to do their own version, please send me a copy. I’d love to hear how they sound.
